Since July 2008, I have been working in Rwanda and Sierra Leone with the Africa Governance Initiative.
Before AGI, I was a McConnell Fellow in the MPA program at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
Previously, I have worked as a strategy adviser and consultant with various UK government departments, including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the former Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as E3G, a not-for-profit sustainable development consultancy.
From 2002-2006 I was a researcher and then senior researcher at Demos, one of the UK's leading think-tanks, where I researched and published widely on democracy, civic participation and social change.
I also acted as a political adviser and speechwriter to David Lammy MP.
I have a BA in Government and an MA in European Politics and Policy from the University of Manchester.
